Post Automation Templates
Building a post automation from scratch means deciding the trigger, the reply, the DM layout and the follow-up before you’ve seen one working. The template gallery skips that: nine ready-made post automations, each already wired for one common job, waiting for your post and your copy.
Opening the gallery
Section titled “Opening the gallery”Click + New automation, then Browse templates at the foot of the dialog — it’s labelled 16 ready-made automations. Switch to the Basic tab to see the ones that open in the simple automation editor rather than the Flow builder.
Every card is labelled at the bottom with the automation type it creates, and the search box filters all 16 at once. Thirteen templates sit under Basic: the nine post automations below, three chat automations that answer keywords sent straight to your inbox, and one story automation.

Which one to start with
Section titled “Which one to start with”Auto-DM from comments is the baseline. Everything else on the list is that automation with one thing added, so it’s the one to open if you want to understand the editor rather than just ship something.
Pick a more specific template when the shape of the campaign is already decided:
- Running the same offer across your whole feed → Auto-DM on all posts and reels
- Launching something tomorrow → Auto-DM on next post or reel, set up before you upload
- Building a mailing list, not just clicks → Collect email/phone from comments
- Growing the account rather than the list → Grow followers from comments
- Sending several links at once → Auto DM product link carousel
Making a template yours
Section titled “Making a template yours”A template opens as an unpublished draft with a placeholder name and a
Draft badge, so nothing goes out while you edit. Work down the editor:
1. Point it at a post. The Post card is the one thing no template can guess. Templates that say all posts or next post have already made this choice for you — check it’s the one you wanted.
2. Set the trigger words. Templates ship with generic keywords. Replace them with the word you’ll actually tell people to comment, or switch the trigger type to any word or intent match.
3. Rewrite the message. Placeholder copy reads like placeholder copy. Replace
it, put your real link in, and use {{username}} where a name belongs. Then add
variations so a hundred people
don’t all receive the identical message.
4. Check the steps the template added. An opener, a collect-info step or a follow-up arrives pre-wired with its own copy and conditions — read those too, not just the main message.
5. Publish, then test from a second account. Comment your own keyword and watch the DM arrive. It’s the only check that covers the whole chain.
