Disconnect ManyChat from Your Instagram Account
Instagram lets one app run messaging on an account at a time, so ManyChat has to let go of yours before LinktoDM can take over. That takes two removals: take the account out of ManyChat, then withdraw the permission Instagram is still holding for it.
Before you begin
- Access to the ManyChat account that currently holds your Instagram account
- Admin access to the Instagram account you're moving
- Your ManyChat automations copied or screenshotted, ready to rebuild here
Remove the Instagram account inside ManyChat
Section titled “Remove the Instagram account inside ManyChat”In ManyChat, go to Settings, then Instagram under Channels in the middle column. Scroll to the bottom of that page and you’ll find three options together — Refresh Instagram Permissions, Disable Instagram Channel, and Remove Instagram Account from Manychat.
Disable is the temporary one; it pauses the channel and can be switched back on. You want Remove.
ManyChat then asks you to confirm, and it means it: tick both acknowledgements,
type Remove in the box, and click Confirm. The dialog tells you how many
Instagram contacts you’re about to lose.
Remove ManyChat from Instagram’s app list
Section titled “Remove ManyChat from Instagram’s app list”Instagram keeps its own list of connected apps, and removing the channel inside ManyChat doesn’t touch it. On the Instagram mobile app, open your profile, tap the ☰ menu, then Settings and activity. Scroll down to App website permissions and choose Apps and websites.
On the Active tab, tap Remove next to Manychat-IG and confirm. Ours is on this list too, as LinktoDM or as Salesmorph — leave that one where it is.
You should now have
Your Instagram account removed from ManyChat, and ManyChat gone from Instagram’s own Apps and websites list.
