Add another Instagram account

Running more than one Instagram account — a personal brand and a shop, or several clients — means connecting each one to LinktoDM separately. The flow is the same one you used for your first account.

Before you begin

  • A LinktoDM account with at least one Instagram account already connected
  • Admin access to the Instagram account you are adding
  • For Facebook login: admin access to the Facebook Page you are adding

Add the account

  1. Sign in at console.linktodm.com with your existing LinktoDM account.
  2. In the account rail down the left edge, click the + button. Your connected accounts are stacked above it.
  3. Choose Add Instagram account or Add Facebook page.
  4. Sign in to the account you are adding.
  5. Approve every permission it asks for, in particular messaging and comment access. A skipped permission is the usual reason an automation does nothing later.

Which login you pick is per account, not per LinktoDM login. Add Facebook page connects a Page you administer — enough on its own to automate Messenger DMs and comment-to-DM on Facebook posts, and if an Instagram account is linked to that Page it also brings the full Instagram feature set: Comment-to-DM, Story Replies, Click Tracking and Analytics. Switching between accounts

Connected accounts stack in the same left rail, and the name at the top of the sidebar tells you which one you are in. Automations, contacts and analytics all belong to the account currently selected — check it before building an automation, so the automation lands on the account you meant.

An Instagram account can be connected to one LinktoDM account at a time. If you see this error, that Instagram account is still attached to another LinktoDM login — an old account of your own, or a teammate’s.

To move it, sign in to the LinktoDM account that currently holds it and remove it there, then add it again here. If that account is no longer needed at all, deleting it releases the link.

You should now have

A second Instagram account connected to the same LinktoDM login, with its own automations, and a switcher to move between them.
