Connect Your Instagram Account to LinktoDM

2 min readUpdated

With ManyChat removed from Instagram and Facebook, the account is free. Connecting it to LinktoDM is the ordinary connection flow — the only question is which screen you start from.

Before you begin

  • ManyChat removed from Instagram, from Facebook business integrations, and from your Page's Connected Apps
  • Admin access to the Instagram account you're connecting
  • For the Facebook login: admin access to the Page that account is linked to

Sign up at console.linktodm.com and the connection screen is the first thing you see. Pick Continue with Instagram or Continue with Facebook, sign in with the account you just freed from ManyChat, and say yes to every permission — messaging and comment access above all, because that’s what your automations run on.

A new account starts here, at step 1 of 3

You don’t need a second login. Click the + in the account rail down the left edge of the dashboard, choose Add Instagram account or Add Facebook page, and you’ll land on the same sign-in flow. The new account joins the rail alongside the one you already have.

The + in the account rail adds an account to the login you already use

Connected accounts stack in that rail, and the name at the top of the sidebar tells you which one you’re in. Automations, contacts and analytics all belong to the account currently selected — worth a glance before you start rebuilding, so your work lands on the account you meant.

The two buttons aren’t interchangeable, and it’s worth a minute to choose:

Coming from ManyChat you already have the Facebook Page linkage it required, so the Facebook path costs you nothing extra. LinktoDM doesn’t need it, though — either route works, and the choice is per account rather than per login.

You should now have

The Instagram account you moved off ManyChat now connected to LinktoDM, with messaging and comment permissions approved and the account showing in the account rail.
