Setting up automation for posts or reels.
Once your Instagram account is connected to LinktoDM, you're ready to create your first
automation. Here's exactly how to do it in just a few clicks:
Step 1: Go to the Dashboard
After logging in, you'll land on the LinktoDM dashboard. This is your main control panel.
Step 2: Navigate to the Automation Tabs
You'll notice three tabs across the top:
- Post– for comment-to-DM automations
- Story– for story reaction automations
- Chat– for creating chat flows and message templates
Step 3: Create a Post Automation
To set up a basic comment-to-DM automation:
Go to the Post tab
Click on + Post Automation
Click on + Post Automation
Step 4: Configure Your Automation
You'll now walk through a few quick setup steps:
- Select Post or Reel:Choose the content you want this automation to apply to.
- Set Trigger: Choose whether it should trigger on any comment or specific keywords
- Set Auto Reply: You can write a manual response or use LinktoDM's AI to auto-generate replies.
- Choose DM Type:
- Message Template – standard text DM
- Button Image – image with CTA buttons (upto 10 buttons)
- Button Text – text with clickable button options
- Enable Ask to Follow (Optional):Only send DMs if the user follows you.
- Enable Backtrack (Optional):Automatically reply to missed comments from the past 7 days.
Step 5: Publish and Go Live
Click Publish and go live. Your automation is now running in the background—no more manual
replies needed!
